A Right Royal Night at The Oak - Pub Pentathlon Fundraiser

What a night! The Royal Oak was alive with laughter, cheers, and the satisfying clatter of coins, skittles and dominoes for our Pub Games Pentathlon, all in aid of Drimpton Village Hall.

Seven teams took part, each paying £10 to enter, making it a wonderful community fundraiser. Organised brilliantly by Stuart, the evening saw teams competing in a true test of pub-game prowess, Shove Ha’penny (well, Shove Two-Penny to be exact), Shut the Box, Darts, Table Skittles, and Dominoes. Each team played two rounds of every game, with scores carefully tallied throughout the night.

In Stuart’s own words:

Fine margin wins the trophy at the Royal Oak’s Pub Games Pentathlon. Well done Steve (landlord) and his very supportive team on a buzzing evening.”

And what an evening it was! The competition was fierce but friendly, with plenty of laughs and a good dose of playful rivalry. The pub kindly laid on fish and chips at the end, very tasty indeed, and our thanks go to Steve, landlord of The Royal Oak, for hosting and supporting the event.

Congratulations to Steve’s team, who took home the trophy! But really, it was a close call for all, and the night was never just about winning; it was about friends and neighbours coming together for a good cause and a great time.

A huge thank you to Stuart for his superb organisation and to everyone who came along, joined in, and helped raise funds for our much-loved Village Hall.
