Drimpton Book Fair – message from Joyce Bonney

Thank you to all the people who donated books to the fair that was held in the Village Hall on Sunday 19th October and particular thanks to the group of people who helped unpack, arrange, sort and repack the huge number of books that we had.

The horrible weather seemed to gang up against us, and it continued to pour with rain the whole afternoon and therefore seemed to discourage the majority of the village to step outside. However, the few brave souls who turned up enjoyed teas, coffees, excellent cakes and biscuits and spent a good couple of hours browsing the fantastic range of books that we had for sale. All in all we managed to raise about £150 for the Halls & churches, which, while not a huge amount, was more than we had before.

If there is any interest in the village, we will be happy to try again at some point, as for book lovers it was a great afternoon.
